June is done

I finished this morning, all except how I want to hang it. My main objective on this page was to figure how to make the beads look like the picture. I learned that proper backing is a must, which I didn't have, but I am happy with the results. I haven't picked an actual theme to my pages, but will more than likely do more of my photos because they make me happy.

I have enjoyed looking at other blogs, I have gained inspiration and tid bits of knowledge. I am so happy to be part of this project and really look forward to this coming year.

Thanks for taking a look and have a great day!!

Judi, it is stunning. I have to agree with Robin, it makes me smile.
I think you did a great job taking it from your picture. Hanging it will be fun so you can enjoy it all the time.
I hung mine in my sewing room. I finally got a good picture of it this morning.
I can't wait to see what you do next.

I enlarged your image and the words that popped out of my mouth were "Oh my god..." I thought that there were two images on the page until I enlarged it. Awesome shading!

I look forward to learning more from you!

Thank you all for such nice comments!! It made my day apart from just realizing I accomplished what I set out to do. I must say that the colors I chose for the poppy prior to starting work on it where not the colors I ended up with. I have been reading Mary's blog....Beadfluff...about color and was truely amazed to see my own color perception change. I had opaque reds and oranges in mind and when I beaded a few they just didn't click with the mind. I ended up with all transparents and thus was able to produce the shading effect I was looking for in the poppy. The opaques were okay for the leaves and the sky, but the clouds were also transparents, one white lined. My pages are 4x6.

Again, thank you so very much for all the nice feed back. I started July today, not so much beading this month....lol.

Very, very nice. It makes me want to try starting a piece with a photo sometime to see what happens. I could just see a birthday card for someone done this way such as the surf for my son, the surfer or some quilting for my sister, the quilter...hmmm, the possibilities.
